WWII German Kriegsmarine Mess Dress Jacket with Vest and Formal Trousers-This is for the rank of 1st lieutenant. It is a mess dress jacket in navy blue wool that is in excellent condition, with extremely minor wear only. It is double breasted, with a double row of four gilt finished navy anchor buttons. There is a chain tie with buttons as well. This has a pair of gold tresse stripes at each cuff to indicate the rank of 1st lieutenant. There is also a gold bullion star on the right sleeve. There is a beautiful gold bullion breast eagle. The shoulders are lightly padded. There are loops for multiple awards on the left of the tunic. The interior is fully lined in black rayon. There are pockets on each side of the interior. There is a tailor tag in the left pocket which is a bit smudged but still legible. It has the name of the tailor as well as the sailor as well as the date 1941. There is a large tailor tag in the neck. This is a medium size. The vest is white heavy cotton with minor discoloration from use. It has four gilt finished naval anchor buttons. It has a strap with clasp in the rear. The interior is lined in a soft cotton. There are minor stains inside. The formal trousers are also navy blue wool and in excellent condition. They have an original paper tag still affixed to the interior. The waist is a size 32 and these are 32” in length. A fantastic grouping!
