WWII German Hitler Youth Ensemble-This ensemble includes the jacket and shorts plus the uber desirable neckerchief with slide. The jacket is produced in olive brown canvas. It is very clean with minor wear and fading only. There is a five-button closure, all buttons for the closure (except the top) are dark brown bakelite. The button for the top as well as for the pleated pockets with scalloped flaps are the chocolate brown textured type often seen on HJ/DJ/BDM blouses. The cuffs have smooth bakelite buttons. There is a complete set of belt hooks. The shoulder boards have silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The boards are black badge cloth, piped in red with two small pips each to go along with a number "4" cipher (rank of scharführer). The district triangle is for Ost Sudetenland (East Czechoslovakia). PLEASE NOTE: The shoulder straps are for Bann #4, which is Rastenburg , the Gebiet is Ost/Ostland. The Gebiet triangle on this uniform is for Ost Sudetenland. The shoulder straps and Gebiet triangle do not correspond to the correct areas. ALSO IMPORTANT: the straps are a sew in type and have been added. There is one strap on the uniform for a slip on board but the second one is missing. This has all been done by a collector but can be reversed of course. There is a handsome HJ cloth armband. Also included is an enamel HJ membership diamond and a handsome church related tinnie dated 1935. As mentioned, the neckerchief and slide are part of the grouping. The interior of this wartime grouping is unlined. There is a tag in the neck that reads 48/29. The shorts are produced in black corduroy material. They are very clean with a slight hint of wear only. There are slash type hip pockets and a single, buttoned rear pocket. The interior is stamped with the size "10". Very good overall!
