Presentation Plaque for a First Place Winner-This is a beautiful, silver-plated plaque. This was presented and signed by the commander of the III Battalion of the 79th Infantry Regiment on June 2nd, 1938. It is to a soldier of the 10th company of the 79th infantry regiment. We are unsure what the prize was awarded for but it must have been a doozey to win such a fancy plaque. This plaque measures 7 ½ inches (185mm) long by 3 ¼ inches (78mm) wide. This 79th infantry regiment was to play a large part in the battle of Stalingrad just a few years later. This plaque is in very good shape and will clean up very nicely.
