German WWII SS Officer’s Sword-This is a great looking sword. The black wooden handle is a proper fit and is in very good condition. The wire grip wrap is in place but has lost its finish. The wires finish now has a nice copper color to it. The SS Runic button is in place and has very nice background burnishing. The hilt fittings are also nicely toned. This is also true for the “D” guard handle. The original white leather buffer is in place under the crossguard. The pommel looks great and remains untouched. This is SS proofed on the throat of the scabbard. The black paint on the scabbard is 95% in place. Both screws on the lower fitting look as though they have been touched at some point. The blade is in near excellent condition but is unmarked. This sword measures 37 inches (93.98cm). This is a desirable offering.
