German WWII Signed Photo of Knights Cross Winner Josef Flögel-Take a look at this handsome young fellow. He was young when he joined the Luftwaffe. Te was born on October 19th, 1919. He was a sergeant and only 25 years old while with the Flugzeugführer when he won the Luftwaffe honor goblet for aerial warfare in 1944. He won the German cross in gold during the same year. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross for flying into the Budapest pocket with a Fi 156 Storch as a courier pilot on January 20th, 1945. He survived the war, and passed in January of 1997 in Bavaria. This signed photo shows him wearing his knights cross. It is signed on the front and on the reverse of the photo. The photo measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) long by 3 ½ inches (8.89cm) wide. It is in very good condition. This would make a fun research project.
