German WWII DRK Leader’s Dagger w/Hangers-This is a handsome set. The nickel silver plating on the fittings is 98% intact. The matte nickel silver fittings on hilt and scabbard are excellent. The DRK emblem has great detail and tone and also looks excellent. The light pumpkin orange handle is slightly loose which is not unusual. There are a few small almost invisible scrapes to the handle. Someone may have attempted to tighten the pommel and handle at one point, you can see that it appears that the bolt at the end of the pommel may have been turned. The pebbled scabbard shows a few darkened spots, as well as a substantial set of dents on the side, where it appears someone mistook this dagger for a hammer. There is also one screw missing at the throat of the scabbard. The blade is in full polish. You can see a few in and out runner marks, and some light spotting, but these are very slight. The thick brown leather buffer is still in place under the cross guard. This dagger has a fine set of hangers that have always been with this piece. These hangers have aluminum fittings throughout which are very clean and have a muted silver tone. The snap rings which are also aluminum and retain the majority of their finish and have a great color. The silver bullion and brown fabric on the obverse is excellent. The light brown felt backings show only the slightest wear and are also excellent. This is a very desirable set.
