German WWII Army Lions Head Sword- This measures approx. 37 ¾ inches long (95.88cm). It is an outstanding example with early brass fittings. The brass lion’s head, the “P” guard and highly detailed hilt retain 95% of its original finish. The wire wrapped black celluloid handle is excellent. This is an unmarked example, which is common in approx. 20% of these swords that we see. The original black enameled paint on the steel scabbard rates 95%. The “D” ring on the scabbard is in place. The blade rates near excellent overall. Please be aware that the sword/scabbard fitting is slightly loose but overall, this is a great example.
