Steel scabbard retains 80 % of the original black crazed paint with nickel plated magnetic tip and throat fittings. Intact lug for the accommodation of a frog. The latter is included and consists of multiple panels of black leather riveted into a loop for belt suspension. Revers manufacturer stamped in a oval “W.Fr. Bauer, 1941, Offenbach”. The throat of the scabbard retains a functional spring catch to firmly hold the hewer in place during storage. Hewer demonstrates issues consistent with age and wear, pitting to the nickel-plated features, loss of scabbard paint. Measuring ca 41.5 cm in total length.
