German Military Beer Stein-This is a reservistenkrug (reservist mug) which was a traditional commemorative item that would be given to soldiers who finished their military service. This stoneware, lidded 1 liter stein is for the 3. Badisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 111, who was stationed in Rastatt. This mug honors Großherzog Friedrich von Baden.  Baden was the last sovereign Grand Duke of Baden, reigning from 1907 until the abolition of the German monarchies in 1918. He was Wilhelm II’s cousin. This colorful stein has gorgeous graphics that are in very good condition. This one is dated 1905—1907. The lid on this stein is embellished. It is shaped to almost look like a helmet. At the top is an image of a proud German soldier standing with a large lion. This is a gorgeous stein, in excellent shape.
