1943 National Ski Jump Contest Gold Medal Award and Document-This document measures 8 ¾” by 6 ¾”. It is housed in a bi fold mottled cream pressed cardboard cassette which has a marbled finish and a red binding. The obverse cover has a screened gilt eagle with the Hitler Youth diamond inside the wreath. The inside left has a document that identifies the winner as Harald Schlegelmilch. The date is January 17, 1943 and it was held at Ardstadt. It is signed by the HJ district leader and has a stamp on the bottom left. This was for a ski jump that was part of the event. The right side has the actual “medal”, a steel gilt finished rendering of an eagle similar to the one on the cover. The exception is the wreath is around the eagle as opposed to inside its talons. There is minor warping to the cassette but this is in otherwise fine condition. Extremely RARE!!
