Japanese WWII Leather Map or Dispatch Case-Small version with hand stitched 5-pointed star on front flap. The fittings are made of brass. The dark brown patent leather is in good condition, there are markings in kanji under the lid which translate to the name Hirano. This pouch measures 8 ½ inches (21.59cm) long, by 5 ½ inches (13.97cm) side and 2 ½ inches (6.35cm) deep. There are two leather straps on the reverse of the pouch that would attach to a belt or pack. This leather is very dry and a bit fragile. There are steel buckles, and one has a hook. Sound overall condition.
