Japanese WWII Era Tiger Wood Chopsticks-These would have been stored in a small wooden box or rolled up in rawhide, but we do not have the box or leather for this set. This set of chopsticks is made of darker (stained?) tiger wood, that has that gorgeous striped pattern. This set measures 9 ½ inches (24.13cm) long. They are in excellent condition. When the Allied boys were leaving Japan, many of these were purchased locally as souvenirs. These tigerwood chopsticks were a type that was issued to the men. They were allowed to have their own personal sticks in their mess kit as well. Much nicer than the disposable chopsticks that were also available to them. A rare and interesting piece of field gear.
