RARE Nuremberg/CIC Grouping for Agent/Guard-This came from a relative of the GI. Robert Krafve was a Counter Intelligence Corps agent who was assigned to guard/protect two of the French judges at the trials, Henri Donnedieu de Vabres and Robert Falco who was his alternate. The grouping includes many pieces of paper ephemera, including a ration card, three tribunal passes, trip ticket, “special” pass, motor vehicle operators permit, duty identification card, and a letter on letterhead from Headquarters, Command, International Military Tribunal with order to fly to Paris. Also included are five snapshots. Each is clearly identified on the back. One says “Part of Goerings Castle”, one is a pic of him in a city square, one says “Lord Lawrence, My boy (Vabres), Lady Lawrence and the Falco’s”. Next up is one that says “Lord Lawrence, Falco’s daughter, Hermann, Mrs. Falco, Mr. Falco, English Major”. The final one says “That’s me with the two boys, L-De Varbres F-Judge, R-DeFalco (supposed to be just Falco of course), Assf Judge”. There is a manila envelope that is dated 1980 and it is addressed to Krafve from a relative named Jim Powers. We were very happy to have this grouping as it hits close to home. Krafve lived in Worcester, MA at the time the envelope was sent to him. That is where Bill was born and raised! But it is time for someone else to enjoy this one-of-a-kind, amazing grouping!
