Hitler Presentation Frame to Josef Rasp, His “Neighbor” at the Berghof-This fantastic, cased presentation frame was given to Josef Rasp, the farmer who was located just below the land where the Berghof was located. This frame was presented to him by Hitler on the occasion of Rasps’ 80th birthday. It features a portrait shot of the Führer with a (faint) signature on the lower right of the picture. The frame is rendered in 835 silver and has toned, it could easily be cleaned/polished by the next owner if they care to do so. There is a small national eagle at the top of the frame. The frame measures 12 ½” by 16”, while the portrait is 9” by 6 ¼” as viewed. As mentioned, it is housed in a beautiful blue leather presentation case. This has a large gold embossed eagle on the top cover. The interior is compartmented with blue velvet and the lid is white silk. Included is a small photo of Hitler greeting Rasp. Also included is a copy of an envelope from AH to Rasp and a copy of a letter sent to him for his birthday. This translates to:
The Führer and Reichs Chancellor
March 7, 1938
Dear Mr. Rasp!
I wish you my warmest congratulations on reaching your 80th year of life.
I hope and wish that you will remain healthy and prosperous and have a blessed retirement.
