Lot of 3 Kriegsmarine Booklets-This is a fun lot. The first booklet is a 61-page Kriegsmarine songbook, complete with index. It is small, as it measures 6 inches (15.24cm) tall by 4 inches (10.16cm) wide. It has a navy-blue cover with a gold clipper ship and the title. This of course is all written in German. The next two books are two versions of the Navy recruitment booklets, “How do I get to the navy.” This Wie komme ich zur Kriegsmarine is a heavily illustrated 1939 publication by the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine filled with information on how to join the Navy. It has chapters about the application process, and explanations about different ranks and career opportunities in the Kriegsmarine such as coxswain, topographer, artillery mechanic, radio teletypewriter, firefighter, torpedo mechanic, administration, medical, naval artillery, to name just a few. Education and its costs are covered, and the last chapter is about shore service. Inside the back cover is a 13 inch (33.02cm) long color fold-out illustration of a U-Boot or German submarine by Korvettenkapitän Max Bartsch dated 1939. These booklets measure 7 inches (17.78cm) tall by 5 inches (12.7cm) wide. All of these books show some age but are overall in very good condition. A fun read!
