Hitler Youth Führer Skiführerabzeichen (Ski Leader’s Badge) By Wittmann, Muchen-This is a piece that I am confident is missing from most collections. This is a very rare HJ Youth Expert Skier Badge. It is constructed of silvered bronze. The obverse consisting of a circular ring bearing a raised inscription of “HJ SKI-FÜHRER” (“HJ SKI LEADER”), overlaid by a pair of crossed skies. This shows a large, detailed edelweiss in the center with a gorgeous, enameled HJ diamond. The reverse is an unusual setup, with dual horizontal pinbacks that each meet a flat wire catch. It is very nicely marked for Wittmann, München. This is a large badge, measuring 59.54 mm wide and 65.38 mm high. This scarce award is in very good condition.
