Heinrich Bürkel “A Painter's Life of the Biedermeier Period” by Luigi Buerkel-This hardcover book was published in 1940 by F. Bruckmann Verlag. This is a comprehensive register of works by Heinrich Bürkel’s grandson Lv Buerkel.  This book is richly illustrated, with numerous drawing and sketches, some in color. This contains 157 pages which are clean, except for some age spotting. The dustcover is present but there is some tearing to the front and the top part of the dustcover’s  spine. This book measures 10 inches (25.4cm) tall by 8 inches (20.32cm) wide. The artist Bürkel first studied in Munich. He visited Italy in 1829 and subsequently stayed in Rome on several occasions. He spent most of his working career in Germany, and was recognized as an important member of the German landscape school. In 1858, Bürkel was made an honorary member of the Dresden, Vienna and Munich Academies. Overall, this book is in very good condition.
