German WWII Cased German Cross in Gold by Zimmermann-Beautiful textbook example, showing nice patina to the silvered background behind the swastika. The enamel in the cross is perfect. The starburst has the highlights which show the brass underside and gives this example a special appearance. This, by the way, is the heavy version of the award made by the prestigious firm of Zimmermann. The reverse of the decoration shows a handsome aged patina, the underside of the rat tail pin is marked with the firm’s contract number which is 20. The pin assembly functions perfectly. This is a textbook example. Won’t last long.
