German WWI Iron Cross 1st Class-This is a beautiful vaulted example of a 1914 1st class Iron cross. The black finish on the iron core has been touched up at some point and it remains fully intact with some roughness due most likely to some corrosion underneath. The silver frame is very nicely toned and is still a nice shiny silver. This medal is nicely vaulted! The pin setup functions perfectly. A good example overall!

History: The German "Iron Cross of 1914" was a military decoration awarded to soldiers during World War I, originally established by King Frederick William III of Prussia in 1813 as a recognition for bravery in battle.
