German WWI Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class-Handsome example with a great finish and good toning. The black iron core looks great and shows hardly any wear. The silver frame is nicely toned. This includes a long portion of original black and white ribbon that has an old safety pin still attached. This is marked on the ring with what we believe is ED. This is a very good example in very good condition.
History: The German "Iron Cross of 1914" was a military decoration awarded to soldiers during World War I, originally established by King Frederick William III of Prussia in 1813 as a recognition for bravery in battle.
