German WWI Combat Enlisted Man’s Buckle-This is a brass, multi piece constructed example. The bronze has toned a bit lending a handsome look to this buckle. The same is true on the reverse. On the back, you can see the large rivets that hold the rondel in place. The separately applied roundel retains its nickel silver finish. There is a small dent in the middle of the crown on the roundel. This comes with a leather tab that is dated 1895. The tab shows moderate age warping and wear. This is a handsome early buckle and priced to sell.
