German WWI 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class-This is a handsome example. The black finish on the iron core is intact. The silver frame has toned to a nice dark color that complements the black of the finish. The details are nice and strong. Overall, this is a very good example. This comes with a nice clean portion of original ribbon. A classic early German award in very good shape!
History: The German "Iron Cross of 1914" was a military decoration awarded to soldiers during World War I, originally established by King Frederick William III of Prussia in 1813 as a recognition for bravery in battle.
