WWII German Luftwaffe Other Ranks Artillery Visor Cap-This example is produced in blue gray wool. There is minor wear, minor fading and minor discoloration as well. There is red piping around the top panel as well as the upper and lower edge of the ribbed black center band. Insignia consists of a zinc eagle and an aluminum one piece wreath with cockade. The wreath and cockade retain the finish, but the eagle does not. There is a black patent leather chin strap that has minor age crazing. The visor is black leather with moderate age crazing and fading. The underside is also black. The interior is fully lined in an orange brown cloth. The manufacturer information is seen stamped at the top panel. The rhomboid shaped moisture shield is missing but you can clearly see where it once resided. The sweatband is tan leather and in good condition with minor discoloration and wear from use. It is embossed with the Deutsches Leder logo. The underside of the sweatband is boldly stamped with a unit information followed by the date 1936. This was a flak unit, 7th Battalion. The battalion is relisted again on the opposite side. A very nice example overall.
