WWII German Army Pioneer Officer Visor Cap-This is for officer ranks of pioneer/engineer personnel. It’s a private purchase example produced in trikot woven field grey wool. It has very minor wear and discoloration only. The stiffening rings were removed so this has a lot of flexibility and also a fantastic, swept back look. There is black piping around the top panel as well as at the upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band. The insignia consists of a silver finished aluminum eagle, a bullion wreath and a zinc cockade with red felt bulls eye. The chin cord is an officer type in bullion. There are small, silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The visor is black vulkanfibre. It has minor crazing only. The underside is orange brown and cross hatched. The interior is fully lined in grey rayon. There is some discoloration/staining as well as a hole in the front. The was once a rhomboid shaped moisture shield but it has vanished. The sweatband is grey leather. It is in fine condition. It is a size 56. Aside from being slightly out of shape, this is an overall very nice example!
