WWII German Army Pioneer Officer Visor Cap-This private purchase example is produced in super soft, doe skin field grey wool. It is extremely clean. There is some tracking in a few spots underneath where the top of the cap “folds” over the center band. There is black piping around the top panel and at the upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band. All of the insignia is silver finished aluminum and in excellent condition. The chin cord is silver bullion. The visor is black vulkanfibre. It remains very shiny and has a cream finish underneath. The interior is fully lined in gold ribbed rayon. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with the maker info. The pocket for the tag that is part of the shield is missing. The interior is super clean. The brown leather sweatband is perforated at the front. It remains soft and supple with some discoloration and wear. The cap is size stamped 55 under the sweatband. The sweatband is stamped “Stirndruckfrei, Deitsches Reichspatent”. Near excellent overall!
