WWII German Army DAK Pith Helmet-This example has a tan canvas body over a rigid shell. There is discoloration and minor wear to the cover. Both of the shields are present and in fine condition. They are tombak, and wear to the finish reveals the gold base metal underneath, lending to a great look. There is a green leather trim around the brim that is mostly intact. The same leather is used for the chinstrap, which is present and full length but unfortunately broken. The underside of the brim is the same tan canvas as the exterior. The interior is lined in a dusky red cloth that has minor wear and discoloration only. The tan leather sweatband is very clean and soft. The maker is stamped on the outside, JHS, while the underside is stamped with the size, 56, and the date, 1942. This is a very good example overall!
