Kreis Level Political Leader's Visor Cap-This German Political Leader’s Cap is a textbook private purchase example with the added benefit of being named. It is piped in white as this is for the Kreis (district) level. There is discoloration and lots of moth nips/bites to the white piping. The body is made of a tan cloth material in a trikot weave with the brown velvet center band. There is some minor discoloration and a few small bites to the top. The top has a fine saddle shape. The insignia consists of the long straight winged political eagle and the fancy wreath configuration with enameled political cockade. These both show wear consistent with the overall cap and all of the finish is missing from the wreath. It has a nice early bullion chin strap which is secured by two gold pebbled buttons. The interior of this size 55 cap is lined in gold rayon that is very clean. There are some tears on the sides near the sweatband and separation of the lining on the sides. The cardboard inner structure has been replaced on this cap. The brown leather sweatband does show some wear and tear but it remains soft and supple. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield with a name tag that reads "Regner". Underneath the sweatband is a large RZM tag with the number of the maker reading 1073 which is Peter Kupper. Overall sound condition and bargain priced!
