Das Oberkommando der Wehrmacht gibt bekannt-This hardcover by Martin H. Sommerfeldt translates to “The High Command of the Wehrmacht announces"-The German Wehrmacht report: complete edition of the 1939-1945 published by the press and radio on the Second World War”. It was published by Frankfurt am Main, Westdeutsche Verlags- und Druckerei-Gesellschaft, in 1952. This book is written in German. The special thing about it is that it is signed by Rudolf Ribbentrop who is Joachim von Ribbentrop’s son. Rudolf Ribbentrop was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 15 July 1943. On 1 August he was transferred to the newly formed SS Division Hitlerjugend as a training officer and company commander. During battles in Normandy, Ribbentrop was awarded the German Cross in Gold. Following the breakout from Falaise, he saw action during Battle of the Bulge. He surrendered with the division to the U.S. Army on 8 May 1945. He died in 1998 after years of being a wine merchant. The book is in very good condition, it has no dustcover, but the linen hardcover has only the slightest wear. The signature inside is perfect. The pages are clean. Very interesting book.
