Das Jahr 4 Volume Set-This 4-volume set of Das Jahr starts with volume 1, which is a heavily illustrated hardcover photo book by Wulf Bley and was published in 1934 by Verlag der Reimar Hobbing GmbH of Berlin. This first volume looks back on the first year of National Socialist power in Germany, and the achievements by the NSDAP after they formed the first political government in Germany under 23rd Chancellor Adolf Hitler in January 1933. Each of these books measures 7 inches wide, by almost 10 inches in length. Volume 1 has 112 pages with a hardcover and includes 76 carefully selected photographs that illustrate the early party achievements. Vol 1 also has a foreword by Ministerpräsident Hermann Göring. There are full-page portraits photos of Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring, Joseph Goebbels, the new NSDAP cabinet on 30 January 1933, as well as Hitler with Feldmarschall Hindenburg, the Reichstag fire, the Reichstag assembly in the Garnisonkirche in Potsdam on 21 March 1933 as well as Parliament in the Krolloper, May Day and celebrating German workers, Adolf Hitler speaking at various rallies, various Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter, Goebbels in Rome, Baldur von Schirach during a Hitler Youth review, Dr. Robert Ley, Reichssportkommissar Tschammer und Osten, Tannenberg Memorial in East Prussia, Hitler with a shovel starting the construction of his Reichsautobahn, the Day of German Art and the laying of the foundation stone of the House of German Art in Munich, R. Walter Darré, as well as a rare photo of Stabschef Ernst Röhm and SS- Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler at SS-Tag in Döberitz on 13 August 1933. Of course, there are many images from the huge Reichsparteitag des Sieges (Political Party Days of Victory) held in Nürnberg in September 1933, and 9 November 1933, the 10th anniversary of the failed Beer Hall Putsch in Munich. All high-ranking party dignitaries were present, Hitler, Göring, Rudolf Hess, Ernst Röhm and many others. Complete original book in very good condition and no missing pages. The second volume was published in 1935 and looks back on the second year of National Socialist power in the year 1934. This 112-page hardcover book has 64 carefully selected photographs and also has a foreword by Hermann Göring. The third volume was published in 1936, has 96 pages and 48 carefully selected photographs. This has some great photographs of Hitler and NSKK Führer Hühnlein opening the Automobile Exhibition in Berlin in February 1935, Reichsbankpräsident Schacht's promotion to NSDAP Minister of the Economy, Hitler being welcomed by the population of the Saar region after its reunification with Germany, Hermann Göring in mining clothing in the Saar, the funeral of Gauleiter Schemm, SA Stabschef Viktor Lutze, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Hitler with Wehrmacht Generals, Hitler aboard the battleship "Deutschland", Hitler with Generalfeldmarschall von Mackensen, von Blomberg, General von Fritsch, General der Flieger Göring and Admiral Raeder during the eldengedenktag ceremony, and many more. The 4th volume, was published in 1937 in Berlin and looks back on the fourth year of the NSDAP in the year 1936. This has 96 pages, with 48 photographs. There are many photographs of Adolf Hitler as well as huge parades, speeches by Dr. Ley, Dr. Goebbels and Reichsminister Hermann Göring, the opening of the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Summer Olympic Games in Berlin, Heldengedenktag, the mighty Wehrmacht. These volumes are contained in their original library sleeve, and are overall, in very good condition. Obviously, there are some bumps and scrapes from age and use, but these are a terrific collection.
