German WWII Model LP42 Flare Pistol-This is the German Leuchtpistole 42 signal flare pistol by “euh”, with serial number 166769. This model entered service in 1943. The Leuchtpistol 42 is of all steel construction, uses 26.5 mm flares, and was available in zinc or black finish. It superseded the previous LP34, which was made of aluminum, and took longer to make than the stamped steel body of the LP42. This example bears original German maker code; euh, which is for maker C. u. W. Meinel-Scholer, Klingenthal in Sachsen. Next to this is the stamped serial number. The brown Bakelite ribbed grip panels are excellent. The pistol is very clean, and even still has some traces of the original zinc finish in places. The body has one dent hole, and there are a few scratches, but overall this is in sound condition.
