German WWII TeNo Subordinate Hewer by Eickhorn-This is a fairly early manufacture with matching numbers on the throat of the scabbard and also on the cross guard. This bears the serial number “1438.” This is a desirable feature. The nickel silver plated hilt has slight remnants of the burnishing in the cog wheel and a trace of the burnishing on the cross guard. The cogwheel does show moderate damage and finish loss, so please be sure to look closely at the photos. The eagle on the crossguard shows great details. The white celluloid grip plates are perfect. The back strap of the pommel area does show some finish loss, as this was obviously used by the TENO member as a hammer at one time. This is damage that we see occasionally on these pieces. The plated fittings on the scabbard are excellent. The original black enamel paint is a solid 90% and shows some scuffing but is very good. The blade has the stylized TENO insignia along with the 1935/41 Eickhorn squirrel. There is a partial hanger that is nicely marked for Assmann. Very good example.
