German WWII SS Himmler Officer’s Dagger-This came right out of Bill’s own collection, so pay attention! This has never been offered to anyone before. This textbook example of a Himmler Honor dagger features early nickel-silver crossguards which are both very good and retain all of their finish. The black ebony wooden grip is excellent. It shows hardly any wear and is free of chips or scuffing. The SS runic button retains all of its enamel and finish, it is excellent. So is the nickel silver eagle. They are both an excellent fit to the grip. The scabbard is a thing of beauty. It has light anodizing. There is a slight dent, midway down on the reverse, but this is not a distraction at all. The nickel fittings are also very good, and I only say that since there is a very small dent in the scabbard ball at the tip. It is very slightly flattened. The blade is in very good overall condition with the usual in and out marks, but virtually no damage otherwise. The motto which translates to “My Honor Is Loyalty” is deeply etched into the blade. The Himmler dedication is also very clear. Just above the Himmler dedication is a very early Eickhorn squirrel logo. This is an unquestionable textbook example! It is complete with an interesting dark brown leather vertical hanger. It has two “D” ring loops on a correct vertical hanger. The hangers have nickel silver fittings which are also 100% correct for this rare dagger. There is some verdigris on the larger snap clip, so please be aware and take a look at the photos. This comes with a correctly tied silver bullion dagger knot indicating the recipient was an officer. There is a bit of wear where this was tied onto a dagger for a long time, you can see some darkening. A rare beauty for sure and a great offering!
