German WWII Short Model Bayonet by Eickhorn-This is a handsome bayonet. The checkered grip plates are in very good condition, The nickel plating on the pommel, and crossguard is 95% intact. The leather buffer is still in place under the crossguard. The scabbard retains 85% of its original black finish. It does show moderate wear in the form of scrapes and scratches. The obverse of the scabbard has a fairly large scrape midway down. The blade is very good, it shows the early 1935-41 Eickhorn Squirrel logo. The distributor’s name, Albert Ziegler, can also be seen just under the crossguard. This is a desirable blade.
