German WWII Army Ordinance Sword by E & F Hörster-This is an ordinance sword by Hörster might make a fun spring project for someone. This sword came to us right out of the woodwork. It is untouched and we are offering it here “as is”. It is an early example with a solid “P” guard brass hilt. The finish is missing on the hilt, crossguard and fittings. The black celluloid handle with double brass wire wrap is in good shape and this retains a small portion of the leather finger guard. Please be aware that the wire is lifting slightly. This is very nicely maker marked and dated under the crossguard. There are waffenamts on the crossguard as well as the blade. The steel scabbard has lost all of its finish as well and has a coating of rust. We will let you clean this up if you choose. The sword takes a bit of effort to remove it from the scabbard. This should loosen up. The nickel-plated blade has some issues with rusting as well.  Please be sure to look closely the photos. The original leather buffer is still in place under the cross guard. This sword measures 38 inches (96.52cm) long, with the blade measuring 31 inches (78.74cm) long.  Again, this is being sold “as is” and would clean up should you choose to do so.
