German WWII Army Officer’s Lion’s Head Sword by Paul Weyersberg-This is a scarce sword, with its beautiful, low profile lion’s head pommel. The lions head has great details, and red eyes. There is a slight bit of verdigris on the lion’s head so please be sure to look closely at the photos. It has an excellent wire wrapped black enamel type grip. It is mounted onto a stylized and decorative gilded brass back strap and ‘P’ shaped guard. This ornate guard is near excellent. The eagle with outstretched wings is gorgeous. The tone of the handle’s grip wire is a subdued brass color complements the other fittings quite nicely. The scabbard retains the majority of the original black finish. There are a few scuffs and some light denting from use, but this is hardly worth mentioning. The blade is beautiful, and in near excellent condition.  On the reverse of the blade, you find the famous Holler thermometer logo. This sword measures 39 inches (99.06cm) long, with just the blade measuring 32 inches (81.28cm) long. This is a beautiful sword that is in near excellent condition overall.
