Large Format Dual Promotion Document with Accompanying Document-This large format formal promotion document is bi fold on heavy stock and measures 10” by 14”. The recipient was Günther Weyl who was being promoted from officer candidate (fahnrich) to oberfahnrich (acting lieutenant) and leutnant (2nd lieutenant) on the same date. The promotion went into effect on August 1, 1939. The document is dated August 27, 1939 and signed in Berlin. There is an auto pen signature of “Der Reichminister der Luftfahrt und Oberbefelshaber der Luftwaffe Göring”. The document is embossed on the botted left with a large national eagle. The accompanying paper 8 ½” x 11” document is dated September 3, 1939. It is regarding Leutnant Günther Weyl. Basically, this lists all of the accomplishments that Weyl has successfully completed. This has two punch holes on the left from being inside of a two-ring binder. At some point it was folded into quarters and is a bit fragile. It is hand signed by an Oberstleutnant (lieutenant colonel) and undersigned by someone else as well. A very interesting grouping!
