Third Reich Allgemeine SS Kepi-This desirable cap has a body of black wool that is in good condition with some wear visible on the top right front corner. There is a skirt of black wool around the cap. The visor is also black wool. There are two black enamel ventilation grommets on each side. The insignia consists of the early, small (M-29) style eagle which is produced in nickel silver and toned. It is firmly attached to the cap. The jawless Totenkopf is produced in nickel silver as well with minor toning. This was missing from the cap and a matching, original was added. The chinstrap is produced in black leather, remaining soft and supple, as well as firmly attached to the cap by a pair of black finished buttons. It does show a bit of wear. The interior is lined in black cloth. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield which is fully intact. Underneath is the SS runes inside a circle. The sweatband is just partially intact with a small section that is missing. There is a large RZM tag stitched to the inside. The stamped maker number is 4 which is for Clemens Wagner. A very good example of an extremely desirable cap!
