German WWII Ground Röhm SA Dagger by Eickhorn-This is a good-looking early example of a totally ground Röhm. The brown wooden handle has toned to a nice warm brown color with nice wood graining showing. The handle does show someone’s initials faintly engraved just above the crossguard; you can read what looks to be “VX” carved into the handle.  The nickel silver eagle and the enameled SA runic button are very good. The eagle has toned to the same color as the crossguard fittings. The enamel on the SA button is 90% intact and clear. Both are a tight fit to the handle. The plating on the crossguard and pommel have a matte tone and look very good. The handle is nice and tight as well. There is a SA gruppe mark “Fr” marked on crossguard, and this would be for the district of Franken. The anodized scabbard is very good with the finish being approx. 90% in place, though there is one spot of discoloration on the reverse. The blade itself is in very nice condition. The obverse has the motto deeply etched. The reverse shows where the dedication was removed, and you can also see an early Eickhorn squirrel logo just below the crossguard. This example comes with a brown leather hanger plus an early “D”-ring leather hanger and a belt loop hanger. The nickel silver snap clip functions as it should. The leather hanger is in very good condition with the leather remaining soft and supple. The fittings show some verdigris, but this is slight. Overall, it is a very good early example of a scarce dagger.
