WWII German “Zerstörer Lütjens” Cap Tally- This destroyer was commissioned to the Bundesmarine in Febuary and decommissioned in December of 2003. The ship was named for Admiral Günther Lütjens, who commanded the battle group Bismarck and Prinz Eugen during Operation Rheinübung. Lütjens was killed when Bismarck was surrounded by overwhelming British Naval force on 27 May 1941 in the North Atlantic. This cap tally is produced in rayon with machine woven gold lettering. It has just slight discoloration only and is full-length. A near excellent example!
