WWII German Second Model SS Fez-This interesting piece of headgear is produced in green wool that is excellent! The fez was worn by certain ethnic groups assisting the SS in the war effort. The green versions were worn with the combat uniform. The pig’s tail is green wool as well, and the dark green rayon tassels are present. The tassels are stitched down to the cap. The front of the cap has a machine woven BeVo SS eagle in a silver/grey cloth on a black background. The totenkopf is of like construction and color. Both have been hand applied to the cap with a black cloth thread. Inside, the thread is green. This interesting example has two large metal pips, one on each side. This could possibly be for the wearer's rank, and they have been there forever. The unlined interior has full sweatband produced black leather. It is a size 57. This is a choice example!
