WWII German Paratrooper Camouflage Helmet, Canadian Vet Bring Back- This helmet was recently purchased by us by noted Canadian collector Doug Buhler. It was brought home by a Canadian veteran from Edmonton, Alberta, who picked it up in Ortono, Italy. The helmet has a Mediterranean brown camouflage finish, which remains 75% intact. The finish is cracked and crazed over where the decal is. The liner and harness are partially intact. The liner has rotted away and the harness was cut. The liner band is intact, as are the seven neoprene pads. The side of the interior is stamped ET 68, which indicates it was produced by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 68. The steel lot number is 153 which indicates this was produced in 1941. A very intriguing example in above average condition!
