WWII German Model 1942 Army Single Decal Helmet, Out of the Woodwork-This example is literally fresh out of the woodwork.....untouched, uncleaned. It looks to be a former whitewash with specks of white paint visible on both the exterior and the interior. The dark green combat finish remains 70% intact. The army eagle is produced by ET and remains 70% intact as well. The interior features a size 58 liner that is very stiff, with some minor discoloration and wear. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band. I can see the sizes but the liner band is so tight that I cannot see the date. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 1537 indicating production some time in 1942. The dark brown leather chinstrap is maker marked and dated 1940. Very good and straight out of the woodwork.
