WWII German Model 1942 Army Camouflage Helmet-This handsome example features a sprayed-on tri color camouflage finish of green, red and tan. The finish remains a solid 80% intact. There is a small scrape on the left side which reveals a glimpse of the army decal underneath. There is a ghost of another decal is visible on the right side (?). Inside, there is a size stamped 58 brown leather liner. There is minor discoloration and wear only. It remains soft and supple. There is a zinc liner band (one washer missing!) that is maker marked, dated 1943 and size stamped 66/58. The rear skirt is stamped ckl 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is also stamped with the steel lot number 3097 indicating production some time in the earlier part of 1943. There is a dark brown leather chinstrap that is in fine condition other than being shortened a bit. Desirable!
