WWII German Model 1935 Army Single Decal Reissue Helmet- This exact helmet was brought home by US Army Veteran Otto Rubel who served in North Africa, Italy, and mainland Europe. It is a direct family acquisition. The reissue finish checks in at 60% intact with the original finish visible below. The Army decal checks in at 50% intact. The reissue finish covers the tri-color shield, but it is visible where the finish is scraped away. Inside is a brown leather liner that remains soft and supple. It is a size 54 and has moderate discoloration. There is a drawstring and a non-reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1937, and size stamped. The reissue finish continues onto the skirt making it impossible to see the markings. Based on the liner size, we know that this is a 62 shell. There is a brown leather, slightly shortened chinstrap with aluminum fittings. Good condition!
