WWII German Luftwaffe Spanish Cross in Bronze w/o Swords-This version is without swords. The non-combatant version in bronze was awarded to military personnel or civilians for three months of service in Spain without combat experience. It is beautifully tapered, to better fit on the breast pocket when it was worn. The bronze finish has toned just slightly, giving the badge a very handsome look. There is very minor wear, no doubt from use. The basic cross is in the form of a Maltese cross with a swastika standing on its point in the center within two circles. A Luftwaffe eagle is in between each arm of the cross. The rear has a coke bottle shaped pin, vertically mounted with a rugged block hinge. The catch is "C" shaped and separately soldered to the badge. A near excellent example of this desirable badge!
