WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1940 Camouflage Helmet-This gorgeous helmet was brought home by a veteran from Rhode Island. That is all the info we have on him. The helmet is an absolute "one-looker". There is a chunky camo finish of red, tan and green. The camouflage finish remains 80% intact. The Luftwaffe decal is peeking out from underneath. The interior reveals the original blue grey finish. There are two wires inside for either a net or chicken wire. The liner is brown leather and in fine condition. It is fairly soft, with minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a tiny tear in one tongue. It is a size 57. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1940 and size stamped. The side of the interior is stamped Q 64 indicating production by Quist of Esslingen in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number DN 151. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is in fine condition. It is maker marked and dated 1941. A wonderful example!
