WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1938 Paratrooper Reissue Helmet w/GI Name-This interesting example has a dark green reissue finish that remains 90% intact. The decal is poking out from underneath in a few spots, with crazing to the paint where it is still covered, cool. The interior features a soft brown leather liner, size stamped 58, which has minor wear and discoloration from use. There is some minor scuffing as well. It is also stamped with the shell size and the maker info, Heisler. The GI who brought it home wrote his name and some other info, “Reilly” is his name. The charcoal colored neoprene pads are present and a bit stiff as to be expected. The aluminum liner band has a few kinks in it so let’s assume that the liner has been out at some time. The soft dark brown leather harness is in very good condition. It is the type used both in the early and late stages of the war. The side of the interior is stamped ET 68 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale in the size of 68. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 4986 indicating production sometime in 1940. A good example overall!
