WWII German Luftwaffe Air Gunner Badge by Deumer-The air gunner badge was instituted on 22 June 1942 and had the same criteria for award as the Radio Operator/Air Gunner Badge. On this example, the wreath has a portion of its silver finish intact. The eagle is missing most of the finish but remains tightly affixed to the wreath. The reverse features a sheet metal hinge, a needle pin and a square wire, “C” shaped catch. The name and location of the maker, W. Deumer Lüdenscheid, is stamped into the reverse of the eagle. An above average example of a desirable badge!
