WWII German Luftwaffe Afrikakorps Medal and Insignia Grouping- The grouping starts with a photograph of a Luftwaffe Afrikakorps soldier that measures 5 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches. Each and every one of these items belonged to this exact soldier. The cloth items include an Afrikakorp campaign and member cuff title, a tropical Luftwaffe breast eagle and a tropical Luftwaffe cap eagle. All of these items have been removed from a garment. The medals include a black wound badge (initials W. Z. or V.V.Z. scratched into the reverse) a DRL sports badge, a second-class War Merit Cross with swords and ribbon bar, the Italo German campaign medal also with ribbon bar, a WWII EK II with ribbon bar, a cased flak badge, a cased Iron Cross 1st class, and two silver driver’s qualification badges. Also included is a small ribbon bar for the KVK II and the Italo German medal together. The real special part of this grouping is a West Front Campaign medal. It is finished in a beautiful gilting and has a long round needle pin. The script "WestFront" is seen over a stylized LW eagle. There appears to be something missing from the top of the badge, underneath the wreath. Extremely desirable grouping!
