WWII German Infantry Officer Visor Cap-This handsome, quality private purchase cap is produced in soft doe skin wool. It is field grey and has just minor wear and discoloration from use. There are two absolutely tiny spots of tracking on the top panel. The white infantry piping has minor discoloration throughout. There are one or two tiny nips to the piping in indiscreet spots. The dark green badge cloth center band has minor tracking in a few spots and remains very clean. The insignia is all metal and retains a majority of the finish with minor discoloration. The officer double chin cord is silver bullion with pebbled silver buttons. The visor is black vulkanfibre with minor crazing only. The underside is finished in a cream hue and crosshatched with wear right where you want to see it, when the wearer placed his thumb and finger on it to place it on his head. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon. There is moderate discoloration to the top panel with some wear as well. The moisture shield is missing. The tan leather sweatband has minor wear and discoloration from use. The underside is ink stamped with the size, 55. A very good example!
